Slano, Dubrovnik Region — Southern Croatia

At the southern edge of Croatia, olive trees grow between stone and sea. Yields are limited, but character is not.

The Land

Dobroslavić olive groves are located in the Slano bay area of the Dubrovnik region, in southern Croatia. Spread across several micro locations totaling approximately 4 hectares, all groves are terraced and oriented toward the Adriatic Sea.

The limestone-rich, rocky soil typical of this southern coastal zone naturally limits yields while encouraging concentration and structure in the fruit. Cultivation relies exclusively on natural rainfall and the Mediterranean climate cycle. The absence of irrigation reduces production volume but contributes to greater aromatic density and a more defined sensory profile.

The groves combine mature and younger plantings, with an average age of approximately 25 years.

Harvesting is entirely manual.

The blend is built around:

80% Oblica – the defining indigenous Dalmatian variety
Leccino
Pendolino
Bjelica
Koroneiki

Oblica provides Mediterranean fruit expression and balance, while the supporting varieties add structure, stability, and a more pronounced finish. The final composition reflects the character of each harvest while maintaining a consistent identity.

Harvesting is entirely manual.

Olives are collected in 20 kg crates to prevent overheating and fruit damage before milling.

Processing takes place within 12 – 24 hours of harvest using controlled cold extraction. Annual production remains limited. A separate Limited Harvest selection is produced from the earliest phase of harvest and offers a more structured and assertive profile.

In the far south, conditions leave little room for compromise. Precision is essential.
